The birthplace of electronics, Silicon Valley, and the global village

Homer Avenue is the centerpiece of Original Palo Alto's historic district. It was here that the first house was built in a brand new town called University Park. Over time, Palo Alto grew from and within this nucleus, leaving souvenirs of each era. Today Homer Avenue sports a distinctive presence, a continuity of past and present

With its lumberyards, bakeries, garages, laundries, and laboratories, early Homer Avenue was the backbone of Palo Alto's workshop. Its enterprise and diversity enriched the new town

And incredibly, in this place, in an earlier time, electronics and then the Silicon Valley were born, profoundly and forever changing our world
